Oakland International - Chilled Distribution Centre

VOOR converted an existing ambient industrial building into a chilled distribution centre for Oakland International, including new offices and welfare facilities. Delivered in 17 weeks, including design, the project was driven by a critical client deadline and required fast, disciplined decision-making from concept through delivery. The wider Knottingley site sits in West Yorkshire and forms part of Oakland International’s expansion, with more than 161,000 sq ft of multi-temperature storage capacity.

Working closely with the wider team, VOOR supported the development of the layout, material strategy and buildability of the scheme so the facility could be delivered at speed without compromising operational performance. The result is a high-performing cold chain facility designed to support efficient distribution, future growth and robust temperature-controlled operation. Later project coverage described the site as a key part of Oakland International’s Yorkshire growth, and the facility achieved BRCGS AA accreditation in its first audit.
